Woof helps pet parents and walkers connect. This page summarizes practical habits we encourage on the platform. It is general information, not legal or medical advice. Binding rules are in our Terms of use; data practices are in our Privacy policy.
How Woof fits in
Woof is a directory and booking tool. Walks and in-person care are arranged between users. We review profiles and may remove content or accounts that violate our Terms, but we do not supervise walks in real time and cannot guarantee any user’s conduct. Use the same care you would when hiring any local service provider.
For pet parents
- Meet first. When possible, meet the walker (and introduce your dog) in a neutral place before the first solo walk. Confirm ID, contact method, and expectations.
- Share what matters. Use pet profiles for temperament, leash habits, allergies, medications, vet contacts, and emergency numbers. Update details when something changes.
- Home access. Prefer lockboxes, codes, or arrangements you can revoke. Avoid sharing more access than needed; reset codes if a relationship ends.
- Stay reachable. Keep your phone on during scheduled walks so walkers can reach you if weather, behavior, or health issues come up.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, cancel or reschedule through the Service and choose another walker.
For walkers
- Confirm details. Before each walk, verify time, address, leash/collar, keys or entry, and any parent notes.
- Leash and ID. Keep dogs leashed where required; carry tags and any gear the parent specified.
- Weather and health. Shorten or postpone walks in unsafe heat, cold, or air quality; contact the parent if the dog seems unwell or injured.
- Boundaries. Do not enter areas the parent did not authorize; do not invite others to handle a client’s pet or property without explicit consent.
- Incidents. Notify the parent immediately if a dog is lost, hurt, or involved in a dispute; follow local law (e.g. bites) when applicable.
Walker eligibility
Walker profiles require age attestation consistent with our Terms (including 14+ for paid dog walking on Woof). We do not independently verify age or background; parents should still perform their own checks.
Reporting concerns
If you see profiles or messages that appear fraudulent, abusive, or unsafe, or that violate our Terms of use, report them through the contact channels Nomadis publishes for Woof. We may investigate and take action including removal of content or suspension of accounts, as described in the Terms.
Emergencies
For immediate danger to a person or animal, contact local emergency services first. Woof is not an emergency dispatch service.
We may update this page as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do.
